Potoco Discos

All of the Chilean hip-hop I’ve been posting lately have had some sort of tie to the same record label, Potoco Discos. I can’t really tell how big the label is, or what their relationship is with the artists (which speaks to my terrible Spanish skills). Some of the artists, such as Anita Tijoux, have made names for themselves, though. Tijoux was even given a plug by Thom Yorke, and she is currently touring in the US.

Some other Potoco artists I would suggest are: Koala Contreras, Moreno Villa, Foex, and the prepubescent MC Billeta. Again, I’m not sure of these artists’ relationships with the label. I just found them through the label.

blimey! Me music’s been pillaged!

Use a pirate dictionary.

My latest obsession has been researching lawsuits of music piracy, which I’ll be posting about regularly in the near future. For now I thought I’d put up a related video on the subject–starring two Radioheaders.

By the way…does the opposition think it an insult to call us pirates? We relish pirate mythology (yo-ho-ho)!

Thom Yorke ‘Eraser’ Remixes Compiled

There have been all kinds of remixes of Thom Yorke songs floating around since this album dropped almost two and a half years ago. A compilation of several of the remixes was released in Japan this year. It may be old news, but I just thought I would put you on to some of these tracks as they peaked my interest when I saw it. After all the Radiohead hysteria this year, it makes these solo tracks seem even better.

Speaking of Burial, he did that blog post in October saying there would be a new album soon. We are looking forward to that possible release in ‘09. Til then how about some more remixes?
