Track: Mike Posner – You Don’t Have to Leave

Mike Posner has been murkin’ it of late, which is nothing you wouldn’t know if you follow this blog, but it’s crazy how much this kid should be dripping with hipster cred. He used a sample from The XX for the intro to his recent mixtape One Foot Out the Door and now he’s going in vocally over Miami Horror’s Sometimes on his track You Don’t Have to Leave. Check it out below:

Remix: Mike Posner – Cooler Than Me (Gigamesh Remix FINAL VERSION)

I’m not sure if you heard, but the Gigamesh remix that was featured on Mike Posner’s new mixtape One Foot Out the Door was actually an unfinished version that he had sent to Posner as a taster way back at the end of the Summer. The good news is Posner has decided to use the MPLS-based producer’s version of the track when he performs live (you can hear it on the Carson Daly show), but unfortunately the track on Posner’s mixtape was merely a spattering of how Gigamesh had intended it.

But in good news for all, I received an e-mail from Gigamesh last night with his FINAL version of the track. This version shows off why they chose him to remix in the first place. The layers he adds to his projects are immense. Instead of being a song made up of a looping Crookers’-esque breakdown, we have a full range and progression with that same breakdown fitting in perfectly. Take a listen and pass along the REAL Gigamesh remix!

Remix: Mike Posner – Bring Me Down (Feat. Big Sean and PL – Michigan Remix)

Mike Posner’s new track Bring me Down was one of the hottest on his new mixtape One Foot Out the Door, but now the MP3 of the song’s remix featuring Ann Arbor MC PL has hit the internet. This version comes with it. It’s called the “Michigan Remix” because it features a trio of MI artists: Posner, Big Sean, and PL. The track is also featured on Duke University’s Men’s Basketball promo video for this year.

At the end of the Summer when I traveled home to Michigan, I had the privilege of spending an afternoon with the busiest 21-year-old in the world. Mike Posner is no stranger to this site or to just about any other influential web-site or publication around the country. His brand of pop music has been so fresh that it almost makes your eyes water upon first taste. The singer spends the majority of his weekdays on the campus of Duke University, but come  weekends he is on airplanes taking him to stages and studio spaces across the country. Take a quick glimpse at a day with Mike Posner; as seen through the eyes of my camera and heard through the sounds of Posner’s unreleased song Speed of Sound (Prod. by Block Beattaz) about the launching of the singer’s career and what it means for his daily life.

You may have caught Donnis floating around the blogosphere or on Mike Posner track Smoke and Drive with Big Sean, but if 10.Deep and Fool’s Gold records have anything to say about it you’ll be hearing a lot more of this Atlanta rapper.  Donnis is the real deal, and has recently dropped a 10.Deep sponsored mixtape and, in even bigger news, has signed with Fool’s Gold records.  Check out a couple tracks from the 10.Deep sponsored mixtape Diary of an ATL Brave and a phenomenal video shot by the ATL collective Motion Family.

Mike Posner Performs Gigamesh Remix Live at MSU

Mike Posner, the coolest kid in school, traveled to his home state of MI last weekend to perform at MSU with Big Sean and Fly Union. During his performance of his song Cooler Than Me you can hear he uses our friend Gigamesh’s unfinished remix of the track. Sounds very dope and caters to a lot more crowd involvement. Looking forward to hearing the full version. Nice work my friends!
