MPLS’ DJ/designer extraordinaire Mike the 2600 King has put his touch design touch (above) and remix touch (below) on Arcade Fire’sSprawl II, from their new disc The Suburbs. Take a listen below:
Black Milk, Detroit’s super producer-MC, released his newest LP Album of the Year earlier this month. Check out his second video from the album above and listen to the track below:
Detroit’s Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. stopped by Lee’s Liquor Lounge in Minneapolis during their stop in the Twin Cities to film an awesome performance for MPLS.TV x Gimme Noise’s City of Music series. Shout to Dan Huiting for producing these next level videos of MPLS’ talented artists.
Lil Boosie is currently serving a Four Year prison sentence on a first-time gun charge and third-offense drug charge. With no prior felonies on his record, there’s been wide speculation that Boosie was used as an example. The homies at Motion Family filmed an emotion evoking, powerful web-series (2010 Webby?) of Boosie’s last days before turning himself in to authorities last Fall. Watch all nine episodes after the jump.
Before entering jail, as you see in the web-series, Boosie put in work so he could continue to release music while in prison. His new album Incarcerated drops tomorrow. Check out a track featuring Webbie and Lil Trill:
Well, go ahead prep for some major radio play with this new Nicki Minaj drop from her upcoming album Pink Friday. Hip Hop power ballad at its mainstream best.
ATF favorite The Slips’ new single is an electro-banger of the quality we’ve come to expect from the group, but this time with a science lesson attached. The video above is for the single 4 Elements to Make Good Music which can be purchased on the cheap HERE or listen to it HERE.
One of the most dope touches out right now (producer-wise) are when Colin Munroe does his revox tracks (ie Bob Dylan – Who Killed Davey Moore?). Now he puts together one of the songs of the decade with my favorite verse of the moment. This song is what the repeat button was invented for….snag it now, or Nicki will “eat your brains.”
Been all about Javelin and their dope beats since I first heard their Vibrations last Fall. They work their magic on this HEALTH track. Check it below:
Surprisingly haven’t seen this floating around all that much, but Miike Snow absolutely kills it when they cover La Roux’sIn for the Kill for BBC. Listen below:
