The candid footage was shot by Invincible while on the road for the We-B Girls independent hip-hop tour which is said to be the largest all-female hip-hop tour of its kind. The 16min. documentary also includes appearances from up and coming artists DJ Shortee, Eternia, Stacy Epps, and Invincible.

I just watched today’s Meet the Press. What a head fuck. It’s a guilty pleasure, a naughty escape from wholesome independent media news sources and lengthy internet lectures given by professors who work for universities that I don’t attend.
I used to think that Meet the Press was somehow more prestigious than shows like, say, the late Crossfire. The truth is that it follows the same ADHD, pack-shit-in-before-the-next-commercial mentality. I don’t feel more informed after watching, but more confused.
My brain has been assaulted by armies of unexplained arguments, my logic made more perplexed than a homosexual teenager growing up in Alabama. And it reminds me of an interview that Noam Chomsky gave several years ago. He was explaining why he’s not allowed on mainstream media television:

In the best look for Rage Against the Machine since they acapella-rocked the Minnesota State Capitol Lawn, the group performed Killing in the Name Of for BBC 5 on Thursday. The group was thrust into the spotlight when one upstart Facebook group challenged people to purchase the aforemention track in hopes that it will take the Number 1 spot in the UK away from the winner of popular British show The X Factor. There is also a rumor that RATM will perform a free show in the UK if this feat is accomplished.

Senator Al Franken does the right thing to help pass a Health Care Reform that will actually make a difference by not giving Jospeh Lieberman an ‘extra moment’ to speak on the Senate floor. Senator John McCain claimed he had never seen anything like it, even though he himself did the same thing during the Iraq War negotiations in 2002.

“The year 2009 will go down in history as a moment of great global insecurity. Millions of citizens lost their jobs. Many more lost their savings. Many of the development gains of the last decade vanished”–so began the 7th World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference in Geneva, Switzerland on November 30th. Days earlier, CNN reported dozens of arrests, as the Black Bloc in Geneva allegedly burned 4 cars and vandalized several buildings in anticipation of the conference.
There seems to be an inflamed sense of urgency in shaping the future of international trade. The critically-despised Doha round, which many oppose for fear that United States-like countries would more easily exploit the developing world, has picked up steam once again: “the single largest adjustment we need to make is to conclude the Doha Round successfully and soon…time is running out,” warned the Director -General of the WTO, Pascal Lamy, at the conference.
The Doha Round would essentially expand the WTO, not simply reform it, and this is particularly troubling considering the public holds no democratic power over them. Part of the reason for the WTO’s recent thrust to push through the Doha round may be due to the fragile state of…
