There is no doubt that Kid Cudi is absolutely killing it right now in terms of industry success (Featured on Kanye tracks, Jay Z tracks, album release, as well as acting in indie movies and a new Entourage-esque show on HBO). In terms of being an MC….well, he isn’t much of one, but in terms of being an artist, that you can’t deny.

I’ve been on Kid Cudi since his Day ‘N Night single first hit the internet in January 2008. It took him seven months from that point to even hear another track from him that wasn’t him rapping over the Justin Timberlake Lovestoned beat. In the meantime, Above the Fold caught up with him in Chicago for a Fool’s Gold Showcase in April of 2008. We attempted one of our first ‘video production’ endeavors, which you can see from the quality of what came out.
