With electro-pop instrumentations and an avant-garde delivery, “The Bachelor” is the latest reincarnation of Patrick Wolf. Its mood is something like Bowie and Madonna, peppered with Panic! At the Disco. So many different types of sounds make cameos on the album that it’s hard to label, though. There is no question that he has created his own sound with his latest release, but there are also some eminent influences. It’s a wonder that Wolf’s been able to create so much quality, eclectic music at only 25. In his last recording endeavor, he was able to produce so much material that he will be releasing another album in 2010 entitled, “The Conqueror.” Although already on the road currently, more touring will follow his next release.
The Twin Cities were bubbling over with pride this past weekend as thousands of people took in the many Pride-associated events around the Metro area. The following photos are just a hint of all the excitement that was going on around Minneapolis. We will have more in-depth coverage in the future, but for now enjoy some photos from the festivities.

Michael’s performance of Billie Jean at Motown 25 is supposedly his first performance featuring the Moonwalk. Check out the way he owns the stage all by himself. (Moonwalk at 3:44).
Michael Jackson’s Dangerous was the first album of his I ever owned. I remember being jealous that my older brother got the CD and I had to get a cassette tape for my stereo at the time. I have to say it was a very influential album.
Gigamesh of Discotech/RCRD Lbl Fame just sent over his new take on Soulja Boy’sTurn my Swag On. Not unlike the rest of Discotech’s remix efforts, this track is hot. Which leads me to my new catch phrase for the group….

Minneapolis dancefloor killer and ATF friend So Gold is at it again. This time it’s for the Dell Lounge / Lollapalooza remix comp, and while you can’t hear the remix in the first round of the comp, we know So Gold is on point and will bring it for sure. So head over and vote to push him into the semi-final round.

Ultrachorus is a relatively new electronic duo from Minneapolis. They have already gotten some play on the blogs via their recent remixing of acts like Phoenix, The Presets, and Wallpaper. We can expect a full-length from Ultrachorus in the Fall. Check out photos from the group’s recent show at the 7th Street Entry.
The group is performing for their 7″ release show at the Nomad Pub on Saturday with Battle Royale and Total Babe. Don’t to miss out on a great show!
Thunderheist have been making waves for over two years now, but the U.S. is just starting to get a taste of the group who released their debut album on March 31. Above the Fold caught up with the duo last Winter in Chicago where they performed at Schubas Tavern. Check out ATF’s interview with the dynamic group. (Watch it in HD HERE)
Our friend So Gold is rockin’ a night at Clubhouse Jager that should not be missed. Make sure to come through as there will be free goodies (T-Shirts / Mix-CDs).
