Fhloston Paradigm // Tribute to Charlie Cooper
As a tribute to the late Charlie Cooper (of Telafon Tel Aviv), Fhloston Paradigm released an EP. The 2 song release (on King Britt’s FiveSixMedia) is a tribute to the impression Charlie Cooper left behind, as well as the influence Telafon Tel Aviv had on Fhloston Paradigm.

Unconvention – Documentary ‘Mixtape’ on RNC ‘08 Premieres in Minneapolis TODAY
After ATF’s Joshua Sidney caught the once viral footage of Rage Against the Machine’s acapella performance at the Ripple Effect during the RNC in September of last year, Minneapolis-based filmmaker Chris Strouth reached out to us about the ‘mixtape’ documentary he was putting together using other people’s footage of the convention.
His film Unconvention will premiere today as part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Film Festival and will feature ATF’s footage of the Rage performance. For local Minneapolis residents, the film is playing this afternoon at St. Anthony Main at 5:15. Check out the trailer:

Alpha Centauri CD Release Show | Kitty Cat Klub | [04.24.09]

The Alpha Centauri are one of ATF’s favorite new bands in Minneapolis. We’ve been waiting patiently for the release of their new album Lavarocks. The band will finally unleash it on Friday at the Kitty Cat Klub with other Minneapolis favorites Lookbook and DJ Tendercakes.

Solid Gold – Get Over It (DJ So Gold remix)

When we were putting together the ATF 1yr celebration, we knew it wouldn’t be a dance night without MPLS up-and-comer, DJ So Gold. Thankfully he was kind enough to apply his remixing skills to Minneapolis’ newest buzz band Solid Gold. Check out the So Gold remix of the single “Get Over It”.

Live (Video) :: The Bad Plus | Electric Fetus | Record Store Day [04.18.09] | Minneapolis
The Bad Plus stopped by the Electric Fetus on Saturday for a short Record Store Day set. The crowded store watched the band perform songs from their new album For All I Care. The video below features the band performing their cover of Nirvana’s Lithium with guest vocalist Wendy Lewis.
The piano-drum-bass trio have an album release show at the Cedar Cultural Center next Saturday April 25.

Live :: Death Cab for Cutie | Roy Wilkins Auditorium | St. Paul, MN [04.15.09]

Indie mainstays Death Cab for Cutie swung through the Twin Cities on Wednesday night. They played a set that featured a good mix of songs from their last three albums.
