Flosstradamus is the ‘it’ DJ duo from Chicago who turn everything they touch into gold. Which is why I was very excited to see that they teamed up with Green Label Sound to release a new track that features Chairlift singer Caroline Polachek. The track dropped awhile back, but the video was just released recently.
Nancy is not a single person. It is a group of six musicians from Brazil whose music does not automatically scream ‘Latin America’ when you hear it. The group will release an EP digitally on March 10. Check out their track Keep Cooler, which is carried by lead singer Camilia Zamith and an almost jazz rock sound that wavers between laidback to a bit driving.
Plain Pat and DJ Benzi dropped a Kanye Mixtape titled ‘Sky High’ a few weeks ago and lets just say that they got sick on it. A lot of the tracks have been floating around already. The ‘Touch the Sky’ remix by Steve1der and Mighty Mi titled ‘Electric Touch’ really brings the heat. A-Trak’s ‘Get ‘Em High’ mash with The Knife has been on repeat since it hit the net a while back.
Shuttle, aka Etan, has used his production skills on plenty of remixes, but now that he has signed to Ninja Tune it seems it’s time to lay down some original tracks of his own. Teaming up with Cadence Weapon, this east-coast producer is offering up Rotten Guts as the hors d’oeuvre to his upcoming EP Tunnel.
Shuttle – Rotten Guts (feat. Cadence Weapon) (our apologies, but the link has been removed)
Theophilus London‘s mixtape Jam! was among some of ATF’s earliest coverage, so it seems fitting that his new release, This Charming Mixtape, drops right around the time of our new makeover. Once again teaming up with Machinedrum, This Charming Mixtape is another fresh combination of classic tracks, banging beats, and quick flows.
TMX‘s remixes have been getting attention all over the web and his most recent re-work is certain to do the same. Taking on We Belong Together by electro pop singer Varga Zsuzsa, TMX’s remix does what they do best in Hungary… Bang.
With the help of Delicious Vinyl, Tone Loc is at it again (sort of) with the re-release of his hit LP Loc-ed After Dark. The 20th Anniversary addition will be released (Jan. 29 2009) as part of a series of DV re-releases all featuring bonus material. And you thought Blank Check was going to be his last big release… Lucky for us, it wasn’t, and now we have a new remix to share.
Animal Collective has started a buzz with their new album that hasn’t been matched since, well I’m not sure I guess. NPR, The New York Times, and just about every other major music site have been calling it one of the best albums in years.
Fresh off announcing their full spring tour [stop in Minneapolis on May 20 at First Ave] the band has now released the official video for their song ‘My Girls.’ Check it out below:
