Japanese Motors:
Headed by pro surfer Alex Knost, this Costa Mesa, CA quartet is doling out a dose of pop music drenched in fresh air and sea-spray. Riding the wave of their new release of their self titled debut LP, Japanese Motors’ surf friendly rock is reminiscent of a less pretentious music scene.
Tha Pumpsta:
While he doesn’t possess the strongest flow, Tha Pumpsta certainly proves that he lacks nothing in beats n’ bang. The beats are kept interesting with a range of unique and retro sounds, and with tracks like 1987, The Pumpsta will be a must at hipster bashes around the country.

- MP3: Tha Pumpsta – “Octopus Armed”
Eagle and Talon:
With the end of an eight year era of errors hopefully around the corner, EAT uses their unique rhythms and palatable vocals to swing the vote in their new “election song” Georgia. While we will have to wait until November 4 to see the political impact, we certainly don’t need a presidential election to take notice of this LA girl duo.

Japanese Motors are great! There’s an interview with Alex Knost on VBS and allows you to see how authentic this dude is. A couple of friends of mine met him the other day at Havana in costa mesa the other week .. pretty rad…
