The “beyond partisan” free concert on the lawn of Minnesota’s state capitol today went from mellow and laid back to a political movement. The buzz around the crowd blew up when word got out that Rage Against the Machine would be making a surprise appearance on stage .

Things got heated in the crowd when the Minnesota State Police would not let the band play despite the chanting of the thousands of people.
