Imagine the sound of Daft Punk mashed with Atari Teenage Riot, and the look of illegitimate love-children of Marilyn Manson (circa 1998) and Pharell, and you’ve just imagined Trash Yourself. This DJ / Producer duo, consisting of vocalist Heidi Cannon and producer John Bourke, is certainly not new to the blogosphere, but they’re new to me. When Trash Yourself showed up in our inbox, I was pumped to hear something that truly grinds like old hardcore acid, but is still dance-able. While they are currently in the studio recording for their new album, there are a few tracks floating about, as well as a newly released cover of NWA’s “Fuck the Police” for Buffet Libre’s “Rewind” project to keep us satiated.
