Theophilus London & Machinedrum JAM!

JAM!, the debut work of Theophilus London (aka Thelonious Kapps), is only a mixtape, but if it’s a sign of what’s to come, then I think we can expect big things from the Brooklyn based MC. JAM! is full of witty punch lines, classic beats, and driving bass lines, while still avoiding the ever-popular, insanely annoying mixtape cliches (drops, ad libs, overused Kanye beats, and Justice Remixes).

Theophilus London isn’t the only normREX artist on the grind. Machinedrum, (the mastermind behind the beats on JAM!, CACHED, Now You Know, Urban Biology, etc.), is also working on his next LP; Want to 1 2?, set to drop early this July. Also working on an EP under his other alias: Neon Black, the electronic producer will most certainly be busy lending his thick synth chords and low sub-bass to many projects along the way.

It’s sure to be a big year for everyone at normREX, so keep your eyes on Above the Fold and an ear to the east, and be sure to check out “JAM!” (download it for free at Theophilus London’s Myspace.)
